UNBREAKABLE SPACE
UNBREAKABLE SPACE
It is rush hour at a train station in central London. Commuters are waiting for the announcement of the platform to return home after a dragging day of work. Domke reframes the situation by directing the camera onto people’s faces and expressions, turning an everyday moment to an emotional state. The scenes filmed in slow motion carry a dramatic notion, blurring the border of fiction and reality. “Unbreakable Space”is a triple-screen video installation emphasizing upon the psychology of functionalized public space and sites of transit.
3-channel video installation, 2007
